Azad Osman: Kurdish population in Afrin reaches 70%

Azad Othman, a member of the Afrin City Council, said that the percentage of Kurdish people in Afrin has reached about 70% after the fall of  Bashar al-Assad regime at the end of last year.

The proportion of displaced people from other Syrian regions constitutes about 30 percent of Afrin’s population and is continuously decreasing.

He added: Many of the displaced are waiting for the end of the school year, after which they will return to their areas in Syrian cities, especially in the eastern cities.
