On Friday evening, the Writers’ Union of Kurdistan in Syria and the General Union of Kurdish Writers and Journalists in Syria organized a literary evening at the office of the Kurdistan Yekîtî Party – Syria in Hasakah, in the presence of a group of intellectuals and those interested in literature.

The event began with a minute of silence for the souls of Kurdish martyrs and Kurdistan, followed by the playing of the Kurdish national anthem “Any Sergeant”, before writer Saeed Youssef, head of the Union’s branch in Hasakah, opened the evening by welcoming the audience and introducing writers Hawas Bsho and Salman Jawhar.

Bsho read two literary texts, the first in Arabic titled “Memories of a Donkey” and the second in Kurdish titled “Kojkin del Soz”.

Jawhar presented a collection of children’s stories translated from English into Kurdish: “Bsek and Zinkel, Qor Qor, Kri Kone Kar, Meshki Bajir, Meshki Kund, Haval and Herj.”

The evening included interventions and discussions from the audience, which carried a constructive critical character and added a deeper dimension to the literary dialogue, with the two writers interacting with them in an open and positive spirit.
