Yekiti Media

A few days ago, Public Security in Aleppo arrested two Kurdish youths from the Afrin region of Syrian Kurdistan.

According to the Afrin Human Rights Organization, on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, Public Security forces in Aleppo arrested:

Basel Salah Kdro, from the village of Omar Smo in the Sharan district.
Ali Junaidan Ahmad, from the city of Afrin.

The organization noted that the arrests took place while they were in the city of Aleppo, where they were taken to the Aziziya police station without any official charges being brought against them.

It should be noted that violations in Afrin have continued since the Turkish army and Syrian opposition factions invaded the region in the spring of 2018. These violations include arbitrary arrests, forced detention, and the imposition of financial ransoms on the families of those kidnapped, in an attempt to force the indigenous Kurdish population to emigrate, with the aim of changing the demographic composition of the Kurdish city.
