Statement by the General Secretariat of the Kurdish National Council in Syria regarding the attack on the Amuda Council office

Yekiti Media

The headquarters of the Kurdish National Council in the city of Amuda was subjected to a criminal attack this morning, September 25, in which the office was set on fire in a manner similar to previous incidents targeting dozens of offices of the Council and its parties, carried out by armed groups affiliated with the Democratic Union Party.

This attack comes at a time when our people were hopeful for a positive atmosphere following the conference on Kurdish unity and solidarity held in April 26, 2025, which reflected the desire of the parties to calm the Kurdish arena and promote understanding.

We believe that such acts seek to sow discord, undermine Kurdish unity, and stir up tension between the parties, which is a clear attempt to undermine efforts to promote Kurdish-Kurdish understanding.

Therefore, the Kurdish National Council condemns this act in the strongest terms and calls on the relevant authorities in the PYD administration to assume their responsibilities and conduct a transparent and urgent investigation to uncover the crime and those behind it, in order to ensure that such violations are not repeated.

These and other acts will not deter the Council from continuing its peaceful struggle to secure the legitimate rights of our people within the framework of the country’s unity.
