The Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) and the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) agreed to intensify efforts to resolve all issues and provide financial dues to the Kurdistan Region, and to take all necessary steps within the framework of the constitution to resolve these issues in coordination between the two sides.
This came in a joint statement at the end of their meeting held on Monday in Salahuddin, under the supervision of President Masoud Barzani.
According to the statement, the two sides agreed to intensify all possible efforts to resolve the issues, ensure securing the salaries and dues of Kurdistan Region employees, and take all necessary steps within the framework of the constitution, and in joint coordination between the two parties.
The meeting also discussed the need to strengthen relations between the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) and the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) in order to overcome obstacles and issues and preserve the Kurdistan Region’s entity.
The two sides also emphasized the importance of unifying the position of all political forces in Kurdistan and Iraq, with the aim of cooperation and joint support to resolve issues.
The Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) delegation included Nechirvan Barzani, Masrour Barzani, Fadel Mirani, Sidad Barzani, Hoshyar Zebari and Mahmoud Mohammed.
The PUK delegation included Bafel Talabani, Qubad Talabani, Rifaat Abdullah, Darbaz Kosrat Rasul
and Nizar Amedi.
