Suleiman Osso: Military intervention in national issues is a losing option and does not serve Syria’s future

Suleiman Osso, secretary of the Kurdistan Yekiti Party and member of the Kurdish National Council’s presidium, warned of the dangers of resorting to military solutions in Syrian national issues, stressing that this approach does not achieve real gains but rather leads to double losses at various levels.

In a post on his official Facebook account,Osso said that a military solution to national issues is a losing option, considering that “the winner is actually the loser” because of the serious repercussions it has on the country’s unity, stability, and the future of its people.

According to Osso, the Kurdish National Council has emphasized its categorical rejection of this path, stressing the need to adhere to the ceasefire and calling on both the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and the Syrian army to prioritize reason and calm, opening the door to political and diplomatic solutions as the only viable option.

This position comes amid escalating tensions in a number of areas in Syrian Kurdistan, where local and international calls are increasing for a de-escalation and a return to the negotiating table, considering that a comprehensive political solution remains the most effective way to end the suffering of Syrians and achieve the desired stability.
