A source at the Faculty of Law at the Al-Hasakah branch of Al-Furat University revealed that the administration of the Democratic Union Party (PYD) has informed the administrative bodies of the need to hand over all faculties to it after the end of exams on September 15.
The source added that the instructions issued prohibit administrative bodies from transferring any papers or files from the faculties, which must be handed over in their entirety without any changes, confirming that these bodies will have no work within the faculties after the handover date.
For his part, Muhammad, a student at the Faculty of Law in Hasakah, said: The administrative body informed them not to return to work after the end of the exams, noting that the decision to close came directly from the PYD administration, which deployed armed elements at the gates of the colleges.
Mohammed explained that most expectations indicate that all students will be transferred to the university branch in Deir ez-Zor to continue their studies there.
This decision comes amid fears that Al-Hasakah will be emptied of its students and young people, depriving them of their right to university education within their city, in a move that many consider part of policies that threaten the social and cultural future of the region.
