A report issued by the meeting of the Central Committee of the Kurdistan Yekiti Party – Syria
Yekiti Media
The Central Committee held its regular meeting on 5/31/2025, and dealt with many issues
On the political side:
The Central Committee saw that the region is witnessing major changes and transformations after President Trump assumed the second term in the United States of America, as the orientation has become clear in dealing with international issues from the logic of economic benefit, away from the familiar slogans of the West in matters of democracy and human rights.
He also seeks to resolve international issues through dialogue, away from the language of weapons, as is the case today in the Ukraine crisis, the Iranian nuclear file, and the Israeli/Palestinian and Lebanese conflicts.
However, the language of the threat of military force remains present during negotiations.
This policy has led to positive results so far, although it is not in line with the orientations of many of its allies, especially the Europeans and Israel, who hope for a more hawkish stance toward Russia and Iran.
The situation in the Middle East:
The Middle East is in a state of war and instability, especially after the Hamas operation in October 7, 2023, which led – and continues to lead – to major changes in the political map, the most prominent repercussions of which were the major political change in Lebanon, Syria, and Gaza, where the war is still ongoing, but it will most likely end with the end of Hamas.
Thus, it can be said that what was known as the axis of resistance, led by the Iranian regime, has been greatly weakened and has lost much of its ability to influence the course of events in the region.
Pressure continues to mount on it and its other allies in the region such as Iraq and Yemen, and the future results depend on the extent to which Iran responds to the US conditions in the ongoing nuclear negotiations.
It is also important to note the historic visit of the US president to a number of Gulf countries and the economic agreements he signed with them, which amounted to hundreds of billions of dollars.
This has strengthened the position of the Gulf states, especially Saudi Arabia, as it has been seen as a key player in the upcoming Middle East equations. This was evident in Trump’s response to the kingdom’s request to lift sanctions on the Syrian regime.
All indications are that America and its allies are working for a new Middle East that guarantees its interests and normalizes relations between Arab countries and Israel.
The situation in Syria:
The Central Committee expressed its satisfaction with the lifting of sanctions against the new administration in Damascus by the United States and Europe, noting that this would open the way for international investments in various economic sectors and service facilities that have been destroyed for 14 years, which require billions of dollars to rebuild Syria and improve the economic situation of citizens.
In terms of security, the new administration in Damascus still suffers from a lack of security control over the entire Syrian geography, whether in the eastern Euphrates region, the coast, the Druze Mountains, or even in its current areas of control. It also faces difficulties in dealing with ISIS, which is gradually growing in many areas, taking advantage of the security vacuum, especially in the Syrian desert.
on the Syrian Kurdish situation:
The Central Committee commended the wide popular support for the “Kurdish Unity Conference” held in April 26, which resulted in an agreement on a common Kurdish vision in Syrian Kurdistan to negotiate with the new administration in Damascus.
The meeting emphasized the need to expedite the formation of the unified delegation.
The meeting also emphasized the importance of separating the negotiation files between the Autonomous Administration delegation and the Kurdish delegation, supported by the output of the congress, which consists of 26 articles that clarify the movement’s vision of the form of the state and how to solve the Kurdish issue in Syria.
The Central Committee praised the political seminars organized by the Presidency of the Council on the outcomes of the congress in all Kurdish regions.
The Central Committee discussed the difficult economic and living conditions in the region in light of the lack of seasons due to the lack of rain and the continuous rise in the prices of food and fuel, which makes many citizens live below the poverty line, so the administration must reconsider its economic policy, which leads to extreme poverty, and must stop the continuous kidnapping of underage children.
The fate of thousands of female and high school students is still unknown and requires an urgent solution between the Autonomous Administration and the Syrian government.
The Central Committee stressed the importance of preserving the Kurdish National Council as a framework that has proven its presence in the Syrian arena in general and the Kurdish arena in particular, as a carrier of the Kurdish national project in Syrian Kurdistan, so it is necessary to expedite the holding of the Council’s conference on the scheduled date and take advantage of the political changes that Syria and the region are going through, and the importance of reviewing and developing its organizational mechanisms to match the stage we are going through.
Tension between the Kurdistan Region of Iraq and the Iraqi government:
The Central Committee discussed the tension between the Kurdistan Region of Iraq and the Iraqi government, and considered that cutting the salaries of the region’s citizens is an unacceptable act.
It also expressed its solidarity with the government and people of the region in the face of the chauvinistic policy practiced by some officials in Baghdad, with the support and guidance of Iran.
On the organizational side:
The Central Committee listened to the report of the Organizational Committee on the organizational work at home and abroad, and valued its role in following up the work and the tangible progress achieved at the organizational level of the party.
The Central Committee praised the role of the party organizations in working to expand the party’s mass base, noting the increase in applications for membership in the party and the return of former comrades to the ranks of their party.
