KNC Objects to Exclusion of Kurdish Representation from Preparatory Committee for National Dialogue

The Kurdish National Council in Syria (KNC) expressed its dissatisfaction with the formation of the Preparatory Committee for the National Dialogue Conference, announced in February 11, 2025.

The Council said that the committee should have reflected the political and ethnic diversity of the country and ensured genuine representation for all national components.

In an official statement added by its General Secretariat on Thursday, February 13, 2025, KNC stated that the formation of the Preparatory Committee for the National Dialogue Conference should have represented the political and ethnic plurality of Syria.

The Council ensured the importance of inclusive representation to ensure the success of any dialogue process aimed at finding serious solutions to the Syrian crisis.

Exclusion of Kurdish Representation Undermines Principles of Dialogue and National Partnership

KNC asserted that the exclusion of Kurdish representation from the Preparatory Committee constitutes a breach of the principle of national partnership. It also raises legitimate concerns about the approach towards Syrian components as genuine partners in shaping the country’s future.

KNC Calls for Rectifying the Imbalance and Ensuring Fair Participation for All The Kurdish National Council urged the relevant authorities to reconsider the composition of the Preparatory Committee for the National Dialogue Conference.

It demanded for rectifying this imbalance and ensuring fair and effective participation for the Kurdish people and all other stakeholders. KNC stressed the importance of balanced representation and a commitment to national partnership, contributing to a comprehensive national dialogue built on inclusive representation and mutual respect.
