Military police in Afrin arrest a member of the Kurdistan Democratic Party

In mid-August, the police in Afrin arrested a member of the Kurdistan Democratic Party – Syria, Reber Fawzi Ahmed.

According to local sources, Reber was arrested upon his return from the Kurdistan region of Iraq, and his fate remains unknown.

The Kurdish National Council, in a statement dated August 27, 2024, called on the Syrian opposition coalition and Turkey to intervene in order to release Reber. The council also condemned the violations in Afrin.
