In 28/8/ 2024 the PKK-affiliated Ciwanên Şoreşger organization/ Revolutionary Youth kidnapped a girl child from Afrin city .

and A local source told Yekiti Media, “The Ciwanên Şoreşger organization of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party has kidnapped the minor girl Yusra Ezzat 14 years old.

The child, Yusra Izzat, was kidnapped from the village of Al-Ziyara in the town of Sherawa. The village is under the control of the Syrian regime forces and the People’s Protection Units.

The Independent International Commission of Inquiry on Syria said: The Syrian Democratic Forces violated their commitment to prevent the recruitment of children and amounted to a war crime. and they added: The recruitment of children under the age of 18 by non-state armed groups is prohibited, and the recruitment of children under the age of 15 may amount to a war crime. In addition, the Syrian Democratic Forces continued to violate their commitment to prevent the recruitment of all children under the age of 18 in areas under their control.

The commander of the Syrian Democratic Forces, Mazloum Abdi, had signed, in 2019, with the United Nations representative for children and armed conflict, Virginia Gamba, a plan of commitment to end and prevent the recruitment of children under the age of 18 and their non-use in military actions.
