A report issued by the meeting of the Central Committee of the Kurdistan Yekiti Party – Syria
Yekiti Media
The Central Committee of the Kurdistan Yekiti Party held its regular meeting in mid-March 2024 and focused on a number of organizational and political issues:
– In the organizational field:
The Central Committee listened to the report submitted by the Organization Bureau, discussed it at length, and approved many decisions that would develop the party and improve its performance among the masses.
The Central Committee focused on the situation in Syria in general, in light of the deteriorating economic conditions of citizens in all Syrian regions and in refugee camps. At a time when there do not appear to be any serious signs of a solution to the Syrian crisis on the horizon, despite the efforts made by the UN Special Envoy for Syria, Mr. Geir O.Pedersen, to convene a new round of the Constitutional Committee in light of the regime’s refusal to hold the meeting in Geneva, the natural place from which negotiations between the regime and the opposition began. The meeting stressed that the international community must exert real pressure on the regime and force it to accept a political solution to the Syrian crisis in accordance with UN Resolution 2254 of 2015 and other relevant resolutions.
The attendees focused on the conditions of our people in Afrin, Serêkaniyê/Ras al-Ain, and Girê Spi/Tal Abyad, and condemned the ongoing violations taking place there, from cutting down trees, assaulting citizens, and imposing royalties on them by force. The attendees called on the coalition and the interim government to work to stop them and provide the necessary facilities for the return of displaced people to their homes.
The meeting expressed its satisfaction with the activation of the performance of the Kurdish National Council in the Afrin region and its towns. As well as the visit of the representatives of the Council within the coalition to the Afrin region and their holding important meetings with our people there and listening to their daily suffering and conveying them to the coalition leadership to examine them.
– As for the Kurdish areas under the control of the Autonomous Administration of the PYD, our people are still suffering there, as the economic suffering of our people is increasing due to the continuous increase in the prices of fuel and foodstuffs, and the imposition of royalties on citizens in conjunction with the increase in the pace of arrests and kidnapping of minors and minors, and these violations culminated in the month of March. The Ciwanên Şoreşger organization, affiliated with the PKK, attacked the celebrations of the Kurdish National Council in Kobani, brutally beating the invitees, burning the contents of the office, and chanting treasonous slogans against the Council and Kurdish symbols. They also threatened the celebrations in Darbasiyah by throwing bombs on the revelers after cutting off the electricity and sound equipment, and they burned six headquarters of the National Council. Within ten days, the Kurds and there parties also vandalized the place where our people celebrated Newroz in the Tirbespiy area (in the village of Drejek) as a pre-emptive step to prevent the celebration of Newroz.
The Central Committee called on the international coalition led by America to intervene to put an end to these violations and intimidating practices against the Kurdish National Council and its supporters, as these violations aim to push our people to migrate further, empty the region, and bring about demographic change in the Kurdish regions.
The Central Committee confirmed that these acts of intimidation will not weaken our resolve to defend our people and their just cause.
At the regional level:
The meeting condemned the unfair decisions taken by the Constitutional Court in Iraq against the Kurdistan region of Iraq with the aim of obstructing the development and prosperity taking place in the region and thwarting the federal experiment in Iraq.
The attendees discussed the ongoing war in Gaza, the devastating effects it left behind, and the possibilities of its expansion in the region and its transformation into World War III. The meeting praised the international and Arab efforts to stop it, release the hostages, and find a solution to the Palestinian issue on the basis of the two-state solution.
The meeting condemned the blatant Iranian interference in the affairs of the countries of the region (Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Yemen) and its control over the political decision in these countries through its arms and militias, as Iran has become a threat to the entire region and to global trade, which requires America and its allies to put an end to it.
The meeting focused on the performance of the Kurdish National Council and evaluated – positively – its performance in the recent period, and found that the components of the Council must be more effective and closer to the issues of the masses and defend them through activities in all Kurdish regions.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the Central Committee saluted the steadfastness of our people and their adherence to their land despite the pressures they are exposed to, and saluted the twentieth anniversary of the Kurdish people’s uprising in Syria and the thirteenth anniversary of the Syrian revolution.
The Party’s Central Committee extends its highest love and appreciation to our people and congratulates them on the occasion of their national holiday, Newroz.
Happy Newroz.
