Suleiman Osso: Incitement does not reflect the Syria we aspire to build

Yekiti Media

Suleiman Osso, secretary of the Kurdistan Yekiti Party, member of the Kurdish Council Presidency, and member of the joint Kurdish delegation, said that today’s celebrations, called for by Syria’s interim president Ahmad al-Shara, had turned into platforms for spreading hatred and incitement against the components of the one nation.

In a post on his Facebook account, Osso explained that “these events do not reflect the Syria we aspire to rebuild, but rather represent a new alarm bell,” warning that the language of betrayal, demonization, and exclusion increases divisions and fragmentation among Syrians.

Osso stressed the need to provide an environment and space that brings Syrians together and unites them, away from shouting and inflammatory rhetoric, noting that Syria is rich and strong in its national, religious, and sectarian diversity, and today it is in dire need of dialogue, peace, stability, construction, and humanity above all else.

Osso’s statement comes at a sensitive time for Syria, where the current situation requires the promotion of values of understanding and cooperation among all components of Syrian society to ensure a stable and peaceful future, away from divisions and sectarian incitement
