Condemnation of the terrorist attack on St. Elias Church in Damascus

The Peace and Freedom Front condemns in the strongest terms the cowardly terrorist attack that targeted on Sunday evening, June 22, 2025, St. Elias Church in the Duwaila neighborhood of Damascus, which resulted in the death of dozens of martyrs and a number of wounded among innocent worshippers, in a crime claimed by the terrorist organization ISIS.

This criminal attack does not only target Christians, but also the unity and civil peace of Syrians, and expresses a desperate attempt to strike the values of coexistence and pluralism that represent the essence of the Syrian national identity.

The Front emphasizes that confronting terrorism requires a comprehensive national project that addresses the roots of extremism and establishes a democratic state that protects all its citizens without discrimination, and calls on the concerned authorities to conduct an immediate and transparent investigation and hold all those involved accountable and bring them to justice.

Finally, we offer our condolences to the families of the martyrs, wish the wounded a speedy recovery, and emphasize that the unity and solidarity of Syrians is the strongest response to terrorism.
